I've been captivated by the art of songwriting since my earliest memories. At 8, I recalled jotting down lyrics in the back of a Language Arts Book I had gotten from elementary school. Seated on the bottom step of my uncle's basement, I crafted my first written song. But when I returned to finish it, I forgot the melody. Because it was the late 90's, recording devices were far from my reach. I was disheartened and stopped songwriting.

At 12, I was dealing with so many emotions that I started to write poetry. My best friend at the time loved to sing. She was a collector of CDs and watched many music shows. I had found myself intrigued by her interest in music. I began to buy CDs and watch shows like 106th & Park and TRL, which is when I re-embraced songwriting.

My passion for writing is boundless. I love writing many styles and genres of songs, from R&B to Country, but my favorite is Pop-R&B. One caveat is that I can't sing. This limitation submerged me into self-doubt.

I've attempted to work with others and record in a recording studio. However, the people I have met weren't interested in my songwriting ability. They weren't looking for songwriters but singers and rappers, which made me feel like this music industry wasn't for me. But I love to write songs.

 

I have a slew of songs, and I know they are top chart quality. I just have to meet the right people to hear me.
